Timescale

The following is an approximate historical timeline in accordance with the biblical record which Judeo-Christian biblical creationists such as myself generally follow. More specific details such as dates may be adjusted later on as time goes by and our knowledge increases and our ideas change.

Archaean Period / The Creation Week (circa 4004 BC)

The Archaean period, also known as simply the Creation Week, was the event spanning six consecutive days when God created the Universe and the Earth. It can be divided into the pre-Adamic epoch (the time before mankind was created) and the Adamic epoch (beginning with the creation of the first man Adam and ending with the birth of his son Seth). The first three days concerns the formation of spaces and locations while the remaining three days concerns the filling of those spaces and locations with objects.

Day 1 / Initial Period (Pre-Adamic Epoch)

God creates the early Universe out of a state of nothingness, along with the early Earth in a formless liquid state. God also creates the first light to distinguish night from day.

Day 2 / Aquatic Period

God forms the Earth's atmosphere and the temporary global Archalassan Ocean.

Day 3 / Hadean Period

God forms the supercontinent Rodinia and the Panthalassan Ocean along with early plant life.

Day 4 / Stellar Period

God forms the astronomical objects of the Universe, including our local Sun and Moon, with the intention of giving light during night and day and to calculate and keep track of time.

Day 5 / Zoologic Period

God forms early aquatic and aerial organisms and commands them to procreate and fill the Earth.

Day 6 / Anthropic Period (Adamic Epoch)

God forms early terrestrial organisms and commands them to procreate and fill the Earth. God also forms the first two human beings in His image, the first man (Adam) from the dust of the ground, and the first female (Eve) from the man's rib, and places them in the Garden of Eden and commands them to procreate and fill the Earth, as well as subdue the Earth as stewards of creation. Mankind and the animal kingdom currently hold to a herbivorous diet. God walks with mankind and brings various animals to Adam and commands him to give names to them as an exercise of his stewardship and being an image-bearer of God. Mankind currently lives in a naked and innocent state.

Day 7

God calls his creation perfect and ceases the process of creation by the time the sixth day ends and the seventh day begins, blessing the seventh day and declaring it a day of rest for mankind, and from here on the Universe generally operates on the established natural laws and uniformitarian principles.

Antediluvian Period / The Pre-Flood Era (circa 4004-2348 BC)

The Antediluvian period, also known as the pre-flood era, is the span of time that passed between the creation of the world to before the Global Flood occurred.

Adamic Epoch (circa 4004-3874 BC)

A time period spanning from the creation of Adam to the birth of his son Seth. Early during this time, Adam and Eve rebel against God and sin by eating of the forbidden fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (following Satan deceiving Eve to eat of it and Eve subsequently tempting Adam with it), leading to them being banished from the Garden of Eden after God having clothed them in the skin of a slain animal to represent God covering their shame, and ever since this Fall of Man the entire creation has been cursed with the introduction of thorns, death, suffering, and a sinful nature inherited by every human being from Adam and Eve as the representatives of mankind. God also promises that a future Messiah will come and rid the world of evil once and for all.

Sethic Epoch (circa 3874-3769 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Seth to the birth of his son Enosh.

Enoshic Epoch (circa 3769-3679 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Enosh to the birth of his son Cainan.

Cainanic Epoch (circa 3679-3609 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Cainan to the birth of his son Mahalalel.

Mahalalelic Epoch (circa 3609-3544 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Mahalalel to the birth of his son Jared.

Jaredic Epoch (circa 3544-3382 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Jared to the birth of his son Enoch.

Enochian Epoch (circa 3382-3317 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Enoch to the birth of his son Methuselah.

Methuselan Epoch (circa 3317-3130 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Methuselah to the birth of his son Lamech.

Lamechian Epoch (circa 3130-2948 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Lamech to the birth of his son Noah.

Noachian Epoch (circa 2948-2446 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Noah to the birth of his son Shem.

Shemian Epoch (circa 2446-2346 BC)

A time period spanning from the birth of Shem to the birth of his son Arphaxad.

Diluvian Period / The Global Flood (circa 2348 BC)

The Diluvian period, also known as simply the Global Flood, is the roughly year-long cataclysmic global flooding event that God released on Earth with the intention of bringing judgment upon the extreme wickedness of contemporary mankind and exterminate them from the face of the planet, along with all terrestrial animal life, while also preserving representatives of mankind and all basic baraminic groups of terrestrial animal life on Noah's Ark with the intent of starting over in order to bring God's plan of redemption for all mankind into action. This event is also responsible for the vast majority of the fossil record.

Inundatory Stage

The cataclysmic event initiates and the global sea level gradually and violently increases as a result of violent tectonic forces and hot subterranean water breaking up the crust of the planet, jettisoning steam and rocks into the atmosphere which comes back as heavy rainfall and impactors, and adding volumes of water to the increasingly turbulent oceans. Masses of contemporary organisms, especially including all mankind and all terrestrial animals, are exterminated or buried within sedimentary layers. Noah's Ark preserves representatives of mankind and all basic terrestrial animal groups. The previous supercontinent Rodinia is being destroyed and reshaped into the temporary underwater supercontinent Pangaea before being permanently separated into our modern configuration of continents.

Recessive Stage

The cataclysmic event ceases and newly-formed continents rise as a result of tectonic activity, leaving water-masses draining off the continents and eroding away masses of surface sedimentary layers, exposing petrified remains of organisms or organic remains in the process of petrification, ultimately leaving a scarred planetary surface. Eventually during this process, Noah's Ark lands on the mountains of Ararat from which mankind and the remaining terrestrial animal life descended to populate the new world.

Postdiluvian Period / The Post-Flood Era (circa 2348 BC to today)

The Postdiluvian period, also known as the post-flood era, is the span of time that has passed since the Global Flood ended and world history began anew in a different world, namely the world we currently know.

The Stone Age / The Ice Age (circa 2348-1600 BC)

The Stone Age, also known as the Ice Age, was the period following the Global Flood when civilization was attempting to re-populate and re-establish itself in the new world, working with what few tools nature provided, primarily including sticks and stones and using these materials to hunt animals and survive in very harsh and violent environments during an increasingly difficult glacial period, following extreme volcanic activity blocking sunlight and causing evaporation of sea water, and leading to landmasses being exposed (which are currently below sea level) and allowing for mankind to migrate across the globe. Further notable events during this time period is the migration of people out of Babylon following God confusing their languages as a result of them trying to establish a single rebellious nation in a single location rather than spread out and populate the entire world.

The Bronze Age (circa 1600-1200 BC)

This time period is characterized by an increasing usage of bronze and increase in writing and urbanization. The early Israelites embark on an exodus out of Egypt and the ancient kingdom of Israel is founded.

The Iron Age (circa 1200-700 BC)

This time period is characterized by an increasing usage of iron leading to more advanced metallurgy and warfare. The ancient kingdom of Israel is destroyed as a result of their rebellion against God and successively taken over by other nations.

The Classical Age (circa 700 BC to 500 AD)

This time period is characterized by the rise and fall of the Greco-Roman world. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of God, walks the Earth and ignites the spread of Christianity through his virgin birth, life ministry, sacrificial death, and miraculous resurrection.

The Medieval Age (circa 500-1500 AD)

This time period is characterized by population decline, rising tribes and fall of urban societies, new kingdoms arising from the rubbles of the Greco-Roman world, as well as the radical spread of Christianity through the unbiblical Roman Catholicism movement.

The Renaissance Age (circa 1500-1700 AD)

This time period is characterized by the rise of pagan humanism philosophy (or "man is the measure of all things" in the words of Protagoras) and rekindled Greek philosophy, as well as an increase in the production of arts and the rise of modern science through Christian intellectuals.

The Industrial Age (circa 1700-1900 AD)

This time period is characterized by changes in social and economic organization by means of the general replacement of handwork with machinery, as well as the advancement of science and arts. Notable clashes between theistic and atheistic philosophies.

The Modern Age (circa 1900-1960 AD)

This time period is characterized by the World Wars and their aftermath as well as the continuing advancement of science and the entertainment industry. Mankind begins to develop spaceflight. Notable increasing clashes between theistic and atheistic philosophies.

The Digital Age (circa 1960-2019 AD)

This time period is characterized by an increasing global use of computer technology, increase in information gathering and distribution, as well as an increase in ethical, military, political, scientific, sexual, religious, and environmental concerns. Space exploration and space colonization projects advances.

The Tribulation Age (unknown date)

Following the Rapture of the church from the face of the planet, the Earth experiences seven years of tribulation where God's judgments are poured out on mankind and the world's nations have joined together into a single global nation ruled by the Antichrist who persecutes God's people.

The Golden Age (unknown date)

Following the return of the Lord Jesus Christ at the end of the Tribulation when the Antichrist and his military forces are destroyed, the millennial reign of Jesus Christ as king on Earth begins and world peace is established. At the end of the thousand year reign, Satan is released from his prison to deceive the world one last time before the Last World War begins, with the nations of the world waging war against Jesus Christ and Israel but ending in God personally destroying the armies before they attack, ultimately ending in Judgment Day arriving when all mankind will be judged for how they lived their lives and God takes his people with him before he destroys the current Earth and Universe in order to restore it to a perfect state through a New Earth and New Universe.

Celestial Period (unknown date)

The Celestial period will span across eternity following the destruction and recreation of our current Earth and Universe and will take place in two separate settings, the New Earth in the New Universe of the Kingdom of Heaven characterized by eternal joy and peace of those who put their faith in God as their Lord and Savior, and in the lake of fire burning with sulphur in the outer darkness of Hell characterized by eternal torment and despair of those who rejected God and chose to face the consequences of their sins.
